I've recently teamed up with the amazing group of writers at MagicalWords.net, working with them as both regular blogger (Saturdays) and editor of several books they plan to release. The first, a how-to writing guide tentatively title How To Write Magical Words: A Writer's Companion, will be the subject of my posts, as I walk readers through the process of putting a book together. MagicalWords.net is a joint blog featuring David B. Coe, Faith Hunter, Misty Massey, A.J. Hartley, and Start Jaffe. I'm thrilled to be working with them, and encourage you to visit often, as new content is added Monday through Saturday.

I've started writing a comic strip for IGMS about a pair of young paranormal investigators. It's something I've always wanted to do, and I'm very hapy to see it finally come into being. Check out the adventures of Dedd and Gohn: Paranormal Investigators, on IGMS. New strips every week.

At the Great Smoky Mountain Book Fair, the organizers, City Lights Books, asked for autographed copies of my novel, Dreaming Creek, as well as the IGMS anthology. Signed copies of both books are available through their website: www.citylightsnc.com

In the On Writing section of this website is an article called "Metaphors, Similes, and Analogies, Oh My..." (I have faith in your ability to figure out what it is about). Below that is a list of "Basic Definitions Every Writer Should Know," as well as a several other articles.

About Dreaming Creek, SFRevu.com wrote:
"Schubert's writing style is almost thriller-like in its clarity and the short chapters make for quick reading. He does not bog down with detail, nor does he attempt to hammer the reader over the head with his own social observations. It appears, in fact, that he quite simply put the characters on the page and let them do their thing, allowing the reader to draw what conclusions they might. I imagine that's a hard thing to do, but Schubert does it quite well. If I hadn't researched and found out that [Dreaming Creek] was his first novel I would have thought him an old pro. He certainly writes like one."
Edmund R. Schubert loves stories. Always has; always will. When he was in the second grade, his teacher would bribe him with trips to the library to get him to do his math and science. Little has changed since then... (For the full bio (as well as a self-inflicted headshot), click "Bio & Interviews" on the list on the left) Or here: www.edmundrschubert.com/biointerviews.htm
